Magnezit Group participated in the
XIII-th international conference of refractory manufacturers and metallurgistsAnnual conference of refractory manufacturers and metallurgists, organized by the national research technological university «Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys» in cooperation with Magnezit Group and technological platform «Materials and Technologies for Metallurgy», was held in Moscow on March 19–20.
This year the program of the conference was devoted to the novel kinds of raw materials, technologies for production of carbon containing and unshaped refractories, to application and operation of refractory materials in ferrous metallurgy, as well as to the problem of power efficiency of metallurgical processes.
Delegation of Magnezit Group was headed by the Technical director of the company, chairman of the organizing committee of the conference Lev Axelrod. In his report he gave analysis of strategic directions for development of refractory materials for steel makers in Russia.
Head of Directorate for Engineering Developments of «Magnezit» Vyacheslav Smertin told about the new product line Russian Magnesite™, which includes high quality grades of fused and
dead-burned periclase with content of MgO > 97%. He also attracted attention of the audience to the new quality of final products on the basis of Russian Magnesite™.Specialist of Department for Simulation Works of Magnezit Group Andrei Zabolotski demonstrated in his report «Simulation of Thermal Destruction of Refractories» methods and possibilities of the special software of Magnezit Group applied in the field of computer simulation.

It is a remarkable event where it is possible to discuss problems, to listen to the opinions of consumers of refractory products manufactured both by Magnezit Group and our competitors», — Technical director of Magnezit Group Lev Axelrod said.
About 200 metallurgists and manufacturers of refractories from CIS countries and Europe took part in the conference. Reports presented at it will be published in № 3 2015 of the magazine «New Refractories».
