Engineers of “Magnezit Group” are named among the best engineers of Russia
In January according to the results of the 6-th Russian competition “Engineer of the year” the list of laureates of 2005. Among the representatives of the Russian engineer elite the names of a few “Magnezit” specialists were mentioned – Evgeni Krokhin, Mikhail Eroshin and Evgeni Smuishlyaev. In February the ceremony of winners’ award took place in Moscow.

PERICLASE POWDERS, MANUFACTURED BY “MAGNEZIT GROUP”, ARE IN SIGNIFICANT DEMAND IN EUROPE
Periclase powders, manufactured by “Magnezit” plant (is included into “Magnezit Group”), besides the Russian plants and enterprises of CIS countries, are delivered towards some counties of Europe. In January 2006 “Magnezit Group” delivered to the enterprises of Czech Republic, Romania and Germany about 3,5 thousand T of powder ÏÏÒÈ-1-92. Foreign consumers are satisfied with the price and quality of the supplied products, and so the demand for the powders is constantly increasing. Taking all these circumstances into consideration, “Magnezit Group” is planning to extend the market of the non-CIS countries, and in 2006 it intends to increase the volumes of powders’ delivery towards the plants of the European countries up to 22 thousand T (in 2005 12,5 thousand T were delivered).

“Magnezit Group” intends to allocate in 2006 90 million roubles for ecological projects.
“Magnezit Group” intends to allocate 91 million 760 thousand roubles for reconstruction and replacement of the available environment protection objects in possession of “Magnezit” plant (is included into “Magnezit Group”) in 2006. Such strategy of the company is determined by the necessity to provide the compliance with the international standards of the system of ecological management and with the increasing requirements of the environment protection law of the Russian Federation.

PRODUCTION VOLUMES IN KYSHTYM WERE DOUBLED
In 2005 volume of product sales at the KYshtym refractory plant in 2.5 exceeded the ratios for the previous three years, and in tons production of fireclays increased for 61 percent. Thus, the task of doubling its gross output this plant managed to perform within less than three years. The Former unprofitable, loss-making enterprise jointed the category of profitable and cost-efficient ones, and now this plant is conquering the market of refractory materials in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This year, as the General Director of this plant, Vladimir Zaitsev, reported, the plant is planning to start the output of new products, which should occupy about a third of the total volume of production.

JOINT PROJECTS OF “MAGNEZITE GROUP” AND «KODIA» COMPANY (AUSTRIA)
On February 10 under the supervision and guidance of experts of “Kodia” (Austria) and “Wassmer” (Germany) new grinding machines were set to work at “Magnezit” plant (represents “Magnezit Group”). Specialists of this plant were trained and gained all the necessary consultations concerning the operating and maintaining of modern German equipment.
“Magnezit Group” carried out an international conference on the prospects of refractory production and utilization.
On October 27 the first international conference on the prospects of refractory production and industrial utilization took place in Satka (Cheliabinsk Region). Representatives of the leading metallurgical and cement companies of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan participated in this conference. “Magnezit Group” performed as a promoter of the conference.
